Error code c00d5212 - File cannot be decoded
Message
MF_E_TOPO_CODEC_NOT_FOUND - No suitable transform was found to encode or decode the content.
Description
This error code is shown when you try to play or edit a sound file, that cannot be decoded.
Solution
The sound file, that you tried to play or edit, has the ending mp3, m4a or one of the other supported formats, but the actual content of the file is another not supported format.
To be able to play these files with Soundpad, you need to convert them first to one of the supported formats like mp3 or m4a. You need additional converter software to accomplish this task, or you can use an online audio converter service.
If the sound file ending and content are correct, and you still see this error, then there's a problem with the decoder. To fix it, uninstall codec packs like the famous K-Lite Codec Pack, Media Player Codec Pack or similar, which might have changed the correct behavior of Media Foundation. Restart your computer afterward. Check if they really were the culprit and if Soundpad works without that error now. Then, if you rely on some codecs, install the pack(s) again more carefully by selecting only a subset of codecs in their installer.
